Tuners is great, I was having conflicts on programming with the Tivo if the kid had two consecutive tv shows on record and I was watchingrecording something else. At present we seem just short of having several more alternatives. Once android tv goes to Nougat in the next month or two, it will be compatible with tv tuners, so boxes like the Nvidia Shield and Xiaomi Mi Box may become options. Those boxes have amazing functionality. My FTA watching is decreasing every month, but I still use it for news and sport, and the kids for ABC Kids. Although I think a standalone pvr is best, it would be very tempting if instead of a great pvr like the fetch mighty for 3. I could go out and buy a nvidia shield for 4. My tv is also an android tv, so in theory it records as well but I have never tried it as the Tivo just worked. I do use the TVs Kodi app and that works well enough, but TVs are still a bit limited. Although modern tvs like to be the central device, dedicate devices tend to work better.
